VINTAGE, I heart You!

My first post for my new fashion blog. ;) Happy me.  Fashion for me should not cost a lot. They said aside from buying a piece of cloth. You should also wear it with attitude, with pride. I am an ukay-ukay finder/lover for more than a decade now. Please do not accuse me of having my closet full of ukays. Okay. maybe just one fourth of it. I even remembered when I was in college me and my older brother went around looking for treasures inside every UKAYANS in Valenzuela, Quezon City, Caloocan and Manila. It was like a hunt for beautiful fortune.

It was a priceless feeling when I will buy something let's say a dress. Then when its time to wear it. It just becomes a statement. It looks like a  thousand bucks. And I found it really glorious! Like just wow!

I dreamed of shopping in every designer stores in the mall. Maybe, I can occasionally splurge but, there is an excitement which I could not describe when I am inside this hideous place called UKAY SHOPS. It was crazy inside. Yes. it was not air-conditioned. Smells a little strange. And all you can rant about it. But, believe me. It takes a lot of courage and perseverance to randomly choose in every rack of clothing. And find something WOW! I hope you will all enjoy my newest blog edition. ;)

For a start, I bought this dress years ago. In an Ukay-ukay shop in Quiapo. And believe it or not. I bought it for P20.00. Imagine. Like the cost of a turon, softdrinks, a fx fare or a bus fare and whatever you can buy from its amount.

I love the details of the dress. Very simple. Found it classy. Its redness trapped me in digging into this vintage thing hanging in the pile of dresses.

It has an excess piece of fabric that you can wrap around the waist. It can be a ribbon or just let it hang after tying it.  Mine I made it into a ribbon.

And voila! I have my vintage dress ;)

(Sorry for the photos. It was only me together with my timer who’s taking the pictures.)
